Reverse osmosis (RO) systems provide high-quality water for drinking, cooking, or running in the ice maker beneath your sink. RO systems require routine maintenance to ensure that the system eliminates dissolving solids and maintains good quality. While water treatment filters are extremely powerful, their filters do not last indefinitely. These units require minor maintenance from year to year in order to function properly. Otherwise, the water customer drinks will not be RO.
When functioning properly, the RO filtering process consists of three, or sometimes four, distinct stages: a sediment pre-filter, a carbon pre-filter, the reverse osmosis membrane, and finally, the carbon post-filter. To keep the drinking water pure, those various RO water filter types will need to be updated. The lifespan of these filters is generally determined by customer usage patterns. The reverse osmosis membrane has a 2-5 years lifespan. Other filters, on the other hand, typically need to be replaced much sooner. RO system's pre-filters may last six months to a year. Everything is dependent on the quality of the water in your area. Every six months or so, the carbon post-filter should be replaced. A good rule of thumb is to stick to a yearly routine. However, the amount of water used in the user's home may have a significant impact.
TIPS TO MAINTAIN RO WATER FILTER
- 1. Replace the reverse osmosis membrane and RO filters: Regardless of the type of water purification system you have, whether rapid change, an older design with drop-in cylinders, or even a countertop system, replacing the pre-filters, post-filters, and RO membranes on a regular basis is critical.
- 2. When should you replace the RO membrane and water treatment filters?
- ~ Filters for RO systems
- ~ Pre-filters should be replaced every 6 months to a year.
- ~ Once a year, post filters.
- ~ RO membrane
- ~ 2 to 4 years for hard water
- ~ 5 to 7 years for soft water
- 3. RO STORAGE DRAIN
- ~ How frequently should the RO storage tank be emptied?
The RO storage tank should be drained every two weeks. By draining, the Reverse Osmosis Plant system can completely turn the water in the tank. If you only use a small amount of water, the mechanism only refills the top of the tank. The RO system has difficulty putting water in this tank, and rejecting the tank when it is empty is not as good. If user don't use a lot of water, empty the tank every few weeks to replenish and preserve the water's quality.
- ~ RO STORAGE TANK SANITATION
It is necessary to sanitize the tank while changing the membrane. Slime eventually grows in every tank. Run a cleaning system to remove slime every other year.If the water treatment filters are not replaced according to their schedules, the system may suffer damage as well as a decrease in water output. So, if a user's RO faucet shows a decrease in water flow, it could be an indication that the movies are nearing the end of their useful life.
